Recommended that attendees bring a lunch or snack.

This course teaches your teen the fundamental skills they need to start their own babysitting service. A Red Cross certified instructor from React Right Safety Services teaches the class.

Topics include:
     - How to give appropriate care for infants, toddlers and school-aged children;
     - Dealing with basic First Aid emergencies;
     - How to recognize potential hazards;
     - What parents expect of a babysitter;
     - How to safely find customers; and
     - Rural babysitting.

Caregivers and support staff for people with disabilities are admitted free of charge.

Presented in partnership with React Right Safety Services.

Note: Bring a teddy bear to practice on!

This Canadian Safety Council course gives your pre-teen the tools and information they need to stay at home alone for short periods of time. The course is facilitated by Red Cross certified instructors from React Right Safety Services. 

Topics include:
     - Looking after the house key (make a key chain); 
     - Preparing healthy snacks;*
     - Walking home;
     - Appropriate activities when home alone; 
     - Electrical/fire safety; 
     - Basic First Aid; and 
     - Problem solving (house broken into, severe weather). 

Note: A healthy snack will be prepared during this program. Please advise staff of any allergies at time of registration.

Encourage your youth to get the skills and confidence they need for a career with technology! This free 10-week after-school program is designed for girls with a wide range of computer science skills. In the Club, girls engage in fun and simple online coding tutorials, build community through interactive activities, learn about inspiring role models in tech, and work together to design solutions to real-world problems facing their communities.

Presented in partnership with Girls Who Code, a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology by teaching computer science, bravery, and sisterhood.

The Girls Who Code curricula are particularly designed and intended to serve those who identify as female, regardless of gender assignment at birth or legal recognition, between the ages of 13 and 18. For more information on Girls Who Code eligibility, please see their website.
