Talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing are the key skills and fun ways to help your child get ready to read! Developing early literacy skills makes it easier for children to read once they begin school, and helps foster a lifelong love of reading and learning!

Children develop speech and language by listening and imitating those around them, but when there is a hearing loss, these skills may be delayed. Nearly four in 1,000 babies are born deaf or hard of hearing and more children develop hearing loss as they grow. 

Sign up your infant for a screening if you have hearing-related concerns, and learn about the follow-up services available to your family.  

Presented in partnership with Markham Stouffville Hospital, the lead agency for the Tri-Regional Infant Hearing Program.

Celebrate National Canadian Film Day! Drop by for a showing of the feature animated film, Ballerina (Leap!) 

Félicie is a young orphan who has only one passion – dance. With her best friend and budding inventor, Victor, they come up with a madcap scheme to escape their orphanage for Paris, the City of Lights, where she’ll try to make her crazy dream of becoming a prima ballerina at the Paris Opera come true! (French with English subtitles.)
