Orono Accessibility Project

Clarington Public Library, Museums & Archives is excited to announce that the Orono Branch will be undergoing renovations to enhance public accessibility.

The Orono Accessibility Project will result in the installation of a fully accessible entrance and universal washroom. The upgrades will be accomplished by renovating the branch’s current non-fiction room at the back of the house, which used to be the summer kitchen.

The renovation process is expected to begin this fall. Every effort will be made to maintain current operating hours, but there may be intermittent noise disruptions or limited access to parts of the collection.

Public Input

The process will involve opportunities for public input to help gauge what future services community members would like to see at the Orono Branch. Clarington Public Library, Museums & Archives wants to ensure we can continue to meet and exceed residents’ needs.

Drop by the branch to view architect's drawings of the planned renovations, and let us know what features, services, or changes you would like to see at the branch on the "thought boards"! We are also seeking input on where visitors to the Orono Branch originate from, and how they travelled to the branch.
