First Nations Public Library Week

First Nations Public Library Week banner.

Celebrate First Nations Public Library Week from September 29 to October 5.

This Week helps raise awareness regarding First Nation peoples and cultures, past and present, and the importance of making available materials that portray First Nations accurately and sensitively. This year's theme is Revitalizing Indigenous Languages, which complements the 2019 UN International Year of Indigenous Languages.

Library programs September 29 to October 5 will help celebrate first Nations Public Library Week. Displays will be available in all branches, or you can browse a curated list of items through our online catalogue.

First Nations Public Library Week is developed annually by a committee of First Nation public librarians. The committee is supported by Ontario Library Service – North in collaboration with the Southern Ontario Library Service.
