Types of Visits (In-Branch or Virtual)
Welcome to the Library or Library Orientation (All Ages/All Grades)
This visit includes information about Library programs, a tour of the Library, the collections and services are highlighted and includes the opportunity to obtain a new Library card.
Storytime (JK to Grade 3)
Come to the Library for a storytime-themed visit that features books and activities that can be tailored to your unit of study. This visit includes a tour of the Library, information about upcoming Library programs and the opportunity to obtain a new Library card.
Getting the Most from Your Library (Grades 4 to 8)
In this visit Library staff will demonstrate how to use the Clarington Public Library’s mobile app, the online library catalogue and the use of electronic tools to help you find your next favourite book. The opportunity to obtain a new Library card can also be included.
Your Virtual Library (Grade 4 and up)
This visits demonstrates how to access and use eBooks, eResources and eMagazines for reading enjoyment and homework help. The opportunity to obtain a new Library card can also be included.
TD Summer Reading Club (All Ages/All Grades); available seasonally
Educators! We'd love to meet your class! The Library can offer a visit tailored to your grade at your school or local Library branch. We’ll highlight the TD Summer Reading Club and help your students prepare for a successful September, combatting "summer slide" and "summer brain drain." The opportunity to obtain a new Library card can also be included.
Customized Group Visits (All Ages)
The Library staff will work with you to create a visit that is age appropriate and exciting for your group.
