Clarington Public Library contacts members to notify them about their account status, program registration, and Library promotions. See below for details and options.

The Library’s automated notification systems is used to contact members about Library materials for the following reasons:

By electing to receive email or text/SMS notifications, members consent to receiving electronic communications from Clarington Public Library in the form of automated notifications regarding holds and overdues.
It is understood that members may unsubscribe from these notifications at any time. By selecting text/SMS notifications, it is acknowledged that members are subject to any carrier’s text messaging rates.
The Library provides registration and payments for programs through Eventbrite. By providing your email address at the time of program registration, the member will receive an automated reminder several days and/or forty-eight (48) hours before the start of the program.
In some instances, members may be contacted regarding changes to a program (e.g. program cancellation).

If members would prefer not to receive this email reminder or not use your personal email when registering for a program, please use the Library’s address: info@clarington-library.on.ca. A phone number is required for program registration.
The Library offers several eNewsletter services through Mailchimp. General eNewsletters are sent approximately once every two months, and specialized eNewsletters may be sent more frequently (e.g. weekly TD Summer Reading Club eNewsletters).

Members can sign up for the general eNewsletter at www.clarington-library.on.ca/subscribe or through the card registration process. The TD Summer Reading Club eNewsletter is available through the Club registration process.
Mailchimp uses a double opt-in process, meaning the member must subscribe to the eNewsletter, then confirm their subscription through a confirmation email.
By electing to receive the eNewsletter, members consent to receiving electronic communications from Clarington Public Library in the form of the Library eNewsletter.
Members may unsubscribe from receiving Library eNewsletters at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each eNewsletter, or by contacting Member Services at 905-623-7322 ext. 2712 or by emailing info@clarington-library.on.ca.
