Summer Reading Club 2016

Avoid Summer Brain Drain and go wild this summer with your Clarington Public Library and the TD Summer Reading Club! Explore wild animals, wild adventures, and the Wild West! Registration opens on Wednesday, June 1st.

Registration for the TD Summer Reading Club includes notebook with reading challenges, a code to access fun stuff on the website, stickers, and more. You and your child can pick these up at any branch starting Monday, July 4th or at any Summer Reading Club program.

Programs are weekly and will run from Monday, July 4th to Thursday, August 25th. Special Epic Experiences will be jam-packed with wild fun and activities! View the online program calendar, or download a printable booklet!

The TD Summer Reading Club is made possible for all public libraries across Canada thanks to the joint initiative between TD Bank Financial Group, Library and Archives Canada and the Toronto Public Library.

Weekly Programs and Epic Experiences

Weekly programs will run from Monday, July 4th to Thursday, August 25th. All programs and Epic Experiences are drop in except Tuesdays on the Trail; TD Summer Reading Club membership required.

Epic Experience:
Launch Party Rodeo! (Bowmanville Branch, Monday, July 4, 1pm, ages 4 to 12)
Put ‘em up, cowboy! Try your hand at Wild West themed games!
Tuesdays on the Trail (Enniskillen Conservation Area, Tuesday, July 12, 10am or 1pm, all ages)
Get out in the wild! We’re outside for fun and games, and maybe some animal sightings with OPG Darlington’s Tuesdays on the Trail!
Epic Experience:
Ontario Falconry Centre (Newcastle Branch, Tuesday, July 19, 1pm, all ages)
Get up close and personal with a variety of live raptors (and not the basketball kind!)
Epic Experience:
Wild Tie-Dye (Newcastle Branch, Tuesday, July 26, 1pm, ages 7 to 12)
Make your wardrobe wild! Bring your own t-shirt and tie-dye with us!
Epic Experience:
Family Fort & Movie Night (Courtice Branch, Wednesday, August 3, 6pm, all ages)
Pretend you’re out in the woods – but with a cool drive-in movie theatre next door!
Epic Experience:
Zoo to You (Bowmanville Branch, Monday, August 8 , 1:30pm, all ages)
Snakes, frogs, and lizards, oh my! Interact with a variety of live animals in a true wild experience!
Epic Experience:
Wild Wheels (Courtice Branch, Wednesday, August 17, 1:30pm, all ages)
See big trucks and other things with wheels up close!
Epic Experience:
Joker's Batman Drop (Bowmanville Branch, Monday, August 22, 1:30pm, ages 7 to 12)
Help Batman defeat Joker’s evil plan! Build a contraption to keep the Bat-eggs safe!

Summer Reading Club members can turn their Library cards into Durham Region Transit passes and ride for free in July and August!

Children 10 and under must be accompanied by a fare-paying caregiver.
